So at 8:30am an older customer walks in and requests to "renew his policy". When i look him up, I notice that his policy was taken out 4/15/2015 & lapsed for non payment 5/15/2015 (over a year ago). I tell the customer this, and the yelling begins. He adomently says it was set on "automatic deduction" from his bank account.
-- Lie # 1- (if it was set on auto pay, why is he here renewing it?..its done automatically)
So I ask him if he is getting any mail from company b...ecause they would have sent past due/cancel notices. He said no. I asked if his correct address was on file. He said, "No, I moved 10 months ago, but I have my old address forwarded to my new one."
---Lie # 2-( fowarding address is only good for 4 weeks or so with post office)
Still arguing his point, I ask him if he checks his bank statements because he would have noticed no monies being paid each month. He answered, "No, Im too busy to check that every month."
----Lie # 3-I dont even wanna go there.
=He then relives the entire argument/senerio again telling me he remembers giving me the visa card to set this up on autopay.
----Lie #4- (the company he was with only uses checking account for autopay)
Wore out at this point, I simply say, "Sir, your policy lapsed a year ago. You have paid no money. It was never set up on auto pay. Your play. What do you want to do?"
He left. Came back an hour later. Set up new policy (without autopay)
