My Sermon for the day: Young lady came in to purchase a policy. She looked unhappy so I asked her whats wrong. She said Monday a car side-swiped her and drov...e off. She followed the car to the next stop sign. The lady, noticing she was followed got out and & looked at both cars. My insured had no damage but the lady that hit her had damage to her side view mirror and scuff marks down the side of her car. The lady said "since my car is the only one damaged, lets just not call police and leave". My insured (not insured at the time) agreed since she feared she would be in trouble with the law for not having insurance. My customer then pulled into the nearest gas station for gas. A few minutes later a policeman shows up and approaches her. The officer tells her the 2nd lady just called the police & reported a Hit & Run by you.
People, People, People!!! I see this all the time!!! Always call police at the scene of an accident, even if you don't have insurance. Having no insurance DOES NOT make the accident your fault, but what an accident report CAN do is document the situation so the true one that is guilty does not have the chance to change the story
