Lets talk today about a term we Insurance people call Insurance Fraud - AKA FELONY.
I get a call Yesterday from one of my companies advising me that my insured is filing a claim ( on the other line with them). The interesting part is the time difference between the time of the accident & the time the client reinstated (paid after it cancelled) their policy is 6 minutes.
I requested t...he customer call me & when speaking I advised them of their choices. First, I explained what the common person doesn't realize when trying to outsmart a million(s) dollar company:
First, you have an accident report. On that report will be a date and exact time the report was filled out.
Better than that,. When the wreck occurred, you called 911. Not only does 911 record all calls, but they also date & time stamp them.
Don't forget about the other driver calling 911. We have that time on file too,
The insurance company will then compare those times (should all be very close in proximity) to the time you called in your payment to them ( all insurance companies record (via computer stamp) the time a payment is made.
But wait, theres more...Did I mention you paid with Visa?? They too will have on file the exact time the payment was made.
So, if you indeed had this claim after you made that payment then absolutely you are entitled to repairs and we have no problem at all with compensation.
However, if the accident happened before the payment, well that could be deemed insurance fraud if you pursue it. Noone wants to end up in a cell with a 375 lb person named bubba (male or female) asking you, "Do you work out?"
